Prof
C M K Reddy is one of the outstanding medical
teachers of contemporary times, traveled widely in the
cause of medical education; conducted/ participated over
900 CME programs on various topics on medicine and
medical education. His Sunday classes for the past three
decades, at Stanley Hospital, were very popular, with
nearly 100% of exam-going UG/ PG students attending,
which are being continued even after his retirement.
He popularized teaching operative surgery through video,
recording over 60 of his own operations, adding his
comments and explanations. To encourage surgical
students to develop interest in the subject of Vascular
Surgery, he instituted an endowment in the Medical
University for awarding Prof C M K Reddy Gold Medal, for
MS (Gen & Ortho) PG students of the state.
He was born in 1941, had 5yrs training in General &
Vascular Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore,
USA, got his FRCS (UK) in first attempt, returned to
India in 1970 and served as Honorary Professor of
Surgery at Govt. Stanley Medical College, for 30 years.
He is an acknowledged leader for medical and dental
professions in Tamil Nadu. He is currently :

abroad. He authored two popular books in surgery and is
actively involved in several social, cultural,
educational institutions in Chennai. He dedicated his
service to poor through his FREE CLINIC, every Thursday
in his hospital without consultation fees and offering
Lab service & Surgery for them at 50% charge, since
January 2004.

Dr. M. Kumaresan (Director)
With
a brilliant academic career at Madurai Medical College
and Madras Medical College, Dr.M.Kumaresan
obtained his M.B.B.S., M.S. Degrees respectively.
Following this he continued his research in ENT
diseases. On the basis of his research, he was awarded
the National E-Merck and State Government Thiruvalluvar
(Best Regional Language book) Awards. Dr.M.Kumaresan's
services as a Medical Practitioner in ENT disease, as
Teacher and Organizer of teaching modules and as
Administrator of College and Hospital, have more or less
gone hand in hand, thereby achieving an integrated
approach to fulfilling the health needs of the community
while maintaining the spirit of creating prosperity for
all in all areas of their lives.
Over a Period of 25 years, the services rendered by
Dr.M.Kumaresan to the cause of Medical education and
Medicare of the citizen are innumerable.
